I've actually never heard of this type of one-volume collection of books on a Kindle. Amazon's normal Kindle Collections are just menu-lists of separately opened books. This is like a series in one volume. I'd THINK the author would have done a Table of Contents and a link to the start of each book.

Many authors have author pages. Have you tried clicking on the author link at the top fo the book's product page? Often, you can write to the person responsible for the product.

Awful that you had to create a paper index of starting page location numbers.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05109282436243758435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-75667313735216763112016-02-27T15:05:21.182-08:002016-02-27T15:05:21.182-08:00Andrys, I wonder if you have an answer to a questi...Andrys, I wonder if you have an answer to a question about a different type of 'Collection'. I have a number of books on my kindle which I purchased as a 'collection' - so they appear in 'My Library' as one book (the title of the collection) but I relly want to be able to acccess the individual titles from the 'My Library' list. eg The complete Thrush Green Collection title in my 'My Libary' list actually has 13 individual titles within it. At the moment to access a particular title in that 'book' I have to open the 'book' and then tap for the menu and then type in a particular location number ( I have created a paper index of the starting page of each of the books.) Is there any way to make an entry for each individual title that will tke me to the correct location in the "Complete... book?Tony Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00091729019505026556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-56857493261521243802016-02-16T03:39:23.833-08:002016-02-16T03:39:23.833-08:00Anonymous on Feb 12, 2016 -- you don't mention...Anonymous on Feb 12, 2016 -- you don't mention which Kindle device you're using. Once a book is added to a collection it should disappear from the main books page and simply be a folder. The Kindle Fire HD doesn't have Collections and I haven't heard anything about when it might. You can, however, put certain books into the Favorites area and move books together that you feel belong together. I do like that, but I WOULD like to see the collections. That can be done by putting Kindle for PC or Mac on your computer though.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05109282436243758435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-76992840199554557282012-10-24T17:20:34.819-07:002012-10-24T17:20:34.819-07:00I really have missed collections on my Kindle Fire...I really have missed collections on my Kindle Fire. Collections are a structure, and what is I...Jenn,
Collections are a structure, and what is IN them is kept by Amazon so that if something goes awry, you don't have to do the work again, with hundreds or thousands of books involved over time.

Amazon makes sure a copy is available on your server area so that if the Kindle ever goes loco,
you drop it, or you lose it (you'll be able to just press a button to have it all put in place, collections and books in the right places where you had put them.

You can use that structure for another Kindle (a replacement or a 2nd Kindle of a different model) by pressing a button for that.

I saw that you said in another thread that you might go to the Nook instead. Why not? If you're unhappy and would rather use another e-reader, that makes sense to me. In the meantime, I've given you reasons they do it. People would be too unhappy to lose all that work if something happened to the Kindle (I've had a few friends who lost theirs on vacation or even at meetings in their work offices.)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05109282436243758435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-43368416027636831322011-06-05T07:57:13.634-07:002011-06-05T07:57:13.634-07:00I don't understand why you need wi fi to set u...I don't understand why you need wi fi to set up collections! It makes absolutely no sense. I have no wi fi at home and don't use any wi fi features on Kindle. If I want to create collections -- essentially folders -- on my own Kindle, why does it have to beam to Amazon? Being someone who uses a desktop computer which is hard-wired, and upload any purchases via USB. does that mean I have to go sit in a Starbucks or something to create collections? I spoke to Amazon customer service, and they had no answers -- it was just kind of, "Sorry, that's the way it's set up." This is the first thing that's really disappointed and upset me about my Kindle.Jennhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03307475669131944104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-62689256336729248222011-02-02T12:43:21.960-08:002011-02-02T12:43:21.960-08:00Mike,
