And very exciting!Gordihttp://www.amazonkindle-australia.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-76333698401024351072011-05-15T20:05:11.657-07:002011-05-15T20:05:11.657-07:00Gordi,
Sorry for misspelling your name the first...Gordi,
Sorry for misspelling your name the first time.

I think Amazon just wants to get a share of the Android apps market and a share of video- and music- streaming. Apple is finally coming out with its own music streaming. Google too.

With Amazon's "ecosystem" of so much that can be enjoyed on a tablet -- if Amazon makes a good one (not necessarily a great one) it'll interest many who spend a lot of time on Amazon.
Even the NookColor (and just about any Android on 2.2 and above) can do Adobe Flash and direct YouTube and other flash video, unlike iTunes, where it is done via a special app when one's made for it. Any device with a USB port and SD port will have two things the Apple doesn't.

But I'll bet they'd go for the 7" first and it's all guesswork at this point. If Amazon tablet had a really decent 3G plan, it could be quite big. Apple charges an additional $130 on top of its basic WiFi model just to get 3G capability and then you pay for data plans after that.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05109282436243758435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-26871868975061375572011-05-15T19:01:14.322-07:002011-05-15T19:01:14.322-07:00Will the Amazon Tablet compete with the iPad do yo...Will the Amazon Tablet compete with the iPad do you think? I'm guessing its capability will include a reader, mail, browsing and a range of apps.

Come to think of it, what more do you get in an iPad? Embedded camera and that's about it.Gordihttp://www.amazonkindle-australia.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-45993557253096706562011-05-14T22:11:46.835-07:002011-05-14T22:11:46.835-07:00jcorkrum,

At least Amazon's Kindle functioning has been pretty well thought-out. Android Honeycomb is currently problematical though so it's probably good it's not quite ready yet, I imagine.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05109282436243758435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-54019156349062047702011-05-14T21:31:38.045-07:002011-05-14T21:31:38.045-07:00I hope it is a good one. The only word the world has received from...Gordy,
The only word the world has received from Amazon is Jeff Bezos' now infamous "Stay tuned."

:-) But since an Amazon tablet could help sell Amazon's newish streaming video and streaming music wares and its Android app store products, I think it's a good guess that they'll price it as reasonably as they can and try to undercut the competition on the hardware.

Since the NookColor is $250 for a 7" LCD tablet, I imagine Amazon will not likely charge more than that, but that's just my guess.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05109282436243758435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-1786178050545086052011-05-14T20:19:04.036-07:002011-05-14T20:19:04.036-07:00Do you have any word on the likely price range of ...Do you have any word on the likely price range of these Tablets and their availability overseas?Gordihttp://www.amazonkindle-australia.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-872447660964013545.post-82143920962279217592011-05-14T19:46:12.862-07:002011-05-14T19:46:12.862-07:00Awesome..
