Am doing a round-up of Kindle Fire reviews, and in the meantime, two announcements have come in from Amazon's PR dept, which I tweeted.
1. Amazon has "tens of thousands" of jobs for returning vets
"We value the leadership experience that military veterans have brought to Amazon, and we’re honored that G.I. Jobs has named Amazon the #1 Top Military Friendly Company. We have a dedicated military program that has helped hundreds of veterans transition into the civilian workforce and build their careers at Amazon, and we’re actively recruiting for even more veterans to join our company.
- Dave Clark, Vice President, North American Operations "
See amzn.to/jobs-for-military-vets for more information and to apply for a position.
2. As expected by many of us, Amazon announced this morning that they're shipping new Kindle models ahead of shipping dates given earlier.
They're shipping Kindle Fire today, one day early, and Kindle Touch models are being shipped tomorrow, 6 days early.
That means that those who asked for 1-day shipments will get these tomorrow and the day after, unless they live in more-remote areas.

NOTE: TO AVOID SPAM being posted instantly, this blog uses the blogger.com "DELAY" feature.
Am often away much of the day, and postings won't show up right away. Posts done to use referrer-links may never show up.
Usually, am online enough to release comments within a day though, so the hard-to-read match-text tests for commenting won't be needed this way.
Feedback and questions are welcome. Thanks for participating.
Technical Problems?
If you're having problems leaving a Comment, Google's blogger-help asks that you clear the 'blogger.com' cookies on your browser's Tools or Options menu bar and that will fix the Comment-box problems (until they have a permanent fix).
IF that doesn't work either, then UNcheck the "keep me signed in" box -- Google-help says that should allow your comment to post (it's a workaround to a current bug).
Apologies for the problems.
TIP: There's a size limit. If longer than 3500 characters or so, in a text editor, make two posts out of it.
