Kindle Tips: A good Mozart "Big Box" mp3 album, 99 cents temporarily. Reminder re Prime-borrowable Kindle Lending Library books link

A special price on a newly-released mp3 album from Bach Guild/Vanguard Classics (Jan. 27, 2013)

Thanks to reader Richard from Albuquerque for sending this valuable tip.

As with the promo reported on January 15, for the Beethoven Big Box mp3 offering, the promo price doesn't last long.  In fact, the Beethoven mp3 album page is now gone; it's not even sold for less, but it could be that they've taken it down to correct tracks and track listings identified by customers for that box at the time.  Even then it was considered a must-buy, for those interested in classical music, at 99c with the errors noted.

The Big Mozart Box, released January 2013 with 131 tracks and currently being made available for 99 cents for the entire album, also has many excellent performances by some big name recording artists.

This album contains works with all movements present and in correct sequence, unlike what's seen with other compilations sold by others.  But the Bach Guild/Vangard Classics is a really good collection going way back, and the general sound quality on this is considered quite good, with two exceptions noted by customer Mitchell.

Customer E. J. Meedcalf has identified two labeling errors this time -- for the Andante of Piano Quartet K478 and possibly in the identification of forces used for Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (see his review which is the first one there).  He considers this set a 'true bargain...'

Mp3 albums are, at this point, generally not available outside the U.S. though.

REMINDER re the direct link to Amazon's Prime-borrowable Kindle books
PRIME-ELIGIBLE KINDLE BOOKS
I read, on a couple of news sites today that someone had found a way to browse a web list of Amazon's Prime-eligible Kindle books, providing the steps and saying they'd not seen this before.

As regular readers of this blog will know, the blog entry of Nov. 4, 2011 gave a direct link to that web listing of Prime-borrowable books.
And that link has remained accessible at the top of the Reference column at the right of the blog pages here since then.

For those who are new to the Kindle and this blog, here's the direct link to the listing of borrowable books via the Prime Kindle Owners Lending Library program (KOLL) (one Kindle book per calendar month, for Prime members).   Here's the UK Link to the UK's KOLL program.

The number of Prime-borrowable Kindle books available back in Nov. 2011 in the U.S. was 5,379 and that number has grown to 296,833.

Remember that you can borrow one of these books only via a Kindle device you own, choosing the "Lending Library" at the Kindle store via your Kindle.  It can't be done from the web page.

If UK owners know of a way to browse UK Kindle books on a webpage as can be done in the U.S., let us know; I don't have full access to the UK Kindle store, due to my US location.  Thanks.

Technical Problems?
If you're having problems leaving a Comment, Google's blogger-help asks that you clear the 'blogger.com' cookies on your browser's Tools or Options menu bar and that will fix the Comment-box problems (until they have a permanent fix).

IF that doesn't work either, then UNcheck the "keep me signed in" box -- Google-help says that should allow your comment to post (it's a workaround to a current bug).
Apologies for the problems.
