Amazon has a promo today for 5 days, through Feb. 8, on the Kindle Fire HD 8.9"
Essentially, the Kindle Fire HD 8.9" WiFi-only tablet will start at $269 (for 16/32GB storage) during this period ($30 off), and
the Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G LTE tablet with cellular network access added will start at $449 (for 32/64GB storage).

The first year's data plan of 250MB/mo. for $50/year would be good mainly for checking email, book-reading, and text-based information sites when you're where there's no WiFi available
