TEMPORARILY Free-Book alerts from the Amazon Kindle forums - via the amazing "Happy Reader" Joyce, who is constantly on the lookout on behalf of forum members.

NOTE: The alerts below are quoted as they appear in Joyce's collecting of newly and mostly temporarily-free books just released and are *not* books I've seen and are *not* recommendations by this blog -- this is a daily report of very popular forum alerts.   The eBooks will become no longer free within days, usually - sometimes, hours.  Thanks to Joyce for gathering and organizing all these for us.

Sept 4 - morning, 23 books; Setp 4 - afternoon (same link), 5 more books from VOOK (total 28)
More on the Audio/Video books and their effect/non-effect on a Kindle in another coming blog entry.   See the end of the book listing (on the 2nd page with "MORE" clicked) to see the additional 5 e-books today.

If, on this Home page listing (in orange), you see "MORE" books available,

' Happy Reader "Joyce" says:

28 FREE Offers by VOOK ...

** Please Note: 10 of today's free offers are Kindle Edition with Audio/Video.
Audio/Video content only available for iPads, iPhones, and iPod Touch devices. **

[Andrys' note1 - Happy Reader "Joyce" adds, re the Audio-Video books, boldface/italics mine:
"I have only tried on a few occasions to download a few of the Vook Audio-Video on my iPAD, and they did work very well.  However, I have had others tell me that they have downloaded on their Kindles and get the text fine, but no Audio-Video."]

[Andrys' note2: Books on the Knob adds that if sent to a Kindle, these books will NOT include audio/video and will not be the large sizes cited, and I'll add that those e-books were authored with the audio/video attachments as important to the enhanced ebook but -- while free -- may be attractive to download to your computer as they will come in handy when there's an Amazon tablet.]

[Andrys' note3: So, today there are 15 offers that were authored without a need for accompanying video/audio.]

  1. Andrys,
I was wondering if you might want to note that the Daily Deal is only good for American customers. I've tried several times now over the past week but always get the message that the title is not available in my region.

Today I checked in at http://www.kindlepost.com/ and noted a link for International customers in the header, clicked it and, sure enough, all Daily Deal posts were gone.

Still, many if not all the free, 99 cents, and low priced titles do work.

    Happy reading...

  2. Owen,
    My empathy on that.

Thanks for the suggestion! - Am doing that starting this afternoon!

Glad to read about some of the other highlighted ones. I think the UK is among those who can get temporarily-free ones, but I don't know. I do know I cannot see the prices of UK Kindlestore offerings and that I cannot, as a U.S. resident, buy from the UK Kindlestore.

  3. Andrys,
...but wait, turns out I am *wron.* or partly wrong. I thought I try again today (Monday) and the title was available.

So, your caveat may need adjusting to something like (May be U.S. only, unfortunately) or (Sometimes U.S. only, unfortunately).

Meanwhile, the kindlepost.com for "international" readers is as stated, i.e. minus the daily discounted books.

    Happy reading....

NOTE: TO AVOID SPAM being posted instantly, this blog uses the blogger.com "DELAY" feature.

Am often away much of the day, and postings won't show up right away. Posts done to use referrer-links may never show up.

Usually, am online enough to release comments within a day though, so the hard-to-read match-text tests for commenting won't be needed this way.

Feedback and questions are welcome. Thanks for participating.

Technical Problems?
If you're having problems leaving a Comment, Google's blogger-help asks that you clear the 'blogger.com' cookies on your browser's Tools or Options menu bar and that will fix the Comment-box problems (until they have a permanent fix).

IF that doesn't work either, then UNcheck the "keep me signed in" box -- Google-help says that should allow your comment to post (it's a workaround to a current bug).
Apologies for the problems.

TIP: There's a size limit. If longer than 3500 characters or so, in a text editor, make two posts out of it.
